The Association Culturelle de Lacanau organizes the 25th GLISS'ART FESTIVAL!

The GLISS'ART FESTIVAL 2024 will be held from May 10 to 12, 2024 at Lacanau Océan.

On the program: Collective exhibition (Sculptures, Comics, Photos...), a Surf Swap, a debate & short films, Performances (drawings on boards) & art & environment Workshops, a 100% surf culture bookshop...

► and a screening of the film CULTURE HOULEUSE, in the presence of director Florian Meca, in partnership with Around The Waves!

Culture Houleuse is a documentary film about surfing and its culture in Brittany.

Director Florian Meca's 2200-km journey to meet the regional surf scene's actors and characters involved in the making and surfing of the ancestor of contemporary surfing gave rise to the project's common thread, the starting point for each interview and the embodiment of his questions.
A socio-geographical exploration that includes analyses of the history of surfing, the specificities of the Brittany coastline, cultural appropriation, gender equality and the evolution of the practice.

The Festival

- Friday May 10: Vernissage 6:30 pm in the presence of the artists.

- Saturday May 11: 10H - 18H30 Surf swap on the theme of gliding.
Foodtruck at 12pm. Followed by a live concert at nearby restaurant "Le Pink Amore".
And at 8:45pm, screening of the film "Culture Houleuse" in the presence of director Florian MECA, in the Escoure cinema. In partnership with "Around the Waves" and Artec, the cinema's programmer.

- Sunday, May 12: 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.: Parvis de l'Escoure Vans and equipment manufacturers.
Foodtruck at 12 noon. Throughout the exhibition, a competition will be organized.
Numerous prizes donated by retailers are up for grabs, and the draw will take place at the end of the show.
